An Cailleach Dhubh - Phalacrocorax carbo - the Cormorant. These large and intriguing seabirds have a rich assortment of beautifully descriptive names as Gaeilge - From 'Broigheall' (Broghais/belly & Geal/white) to 'Cailleach Dhubh' (Dark Hag) to 'Fiach Mara' (Sea Raven).
